It isn't always apparent how fun and fulfilling it can be until after you've pushed through and actually defeated the boss. But, oftentimes there are other strategies in-game I would encourage seeking out before giving in to cheats, as this is how I've personally found enjoyment in FromSoftware games. For example, from what I remember, when the guardian ape starts running to do a rolling grab attack, you can sprint towards him at a slight angle, and he just jumps right over you. When a player hits a major wall in these types of games, a lot of the time, it can just be due to them using a wrong method. However, FromSoftware intended for players to not cheat their bosses, and instead want the players to overcome the challenges through learning and reacting to the boss' attacks. Obviously, players are allowed to modify their game in any way they want. To the people who refused to help and told him to "stop playing", this is extreme gatekeeping and absolutely not the way to go about things.
